Prenatal yoga or pregnancy yoga is widely accepted as being a safe and gentle way to maintain your fitness, flexibility and wellbeing during gestation.
Prenatal yoga can:
Recommended by the NHS and private healthcare practitioners, Prenatal yoga is increasingly popular as women look to stay fit, improve their mental and physical strength and flexibility and prepare for labour.
I offer a safe, holistic approach, meeting the needs of the client. My approach incorporates birthing positions, movement to relieve aches and pains as pregnancy progresses, strengthening and stretching to prepare the body for labour, breathwork and pelvic floor exercises. I can’t stress the importance of breathwork enough. During pregnancy breathwork is used to calm the nervous system therefore relaxing the mind and body. During birth, focusing on breathwork helps you to remain calm and listen to your body’s needs. Calmness, focus and clarity.
As a Yoga Teacher and Doula, I believe, and I have witnessed first hand how yoga is a fantastic way not only to prepare your body for birth but also helps relieve possible anxiety and depression which may be heightened by significant hormonal changes during pregnancy. You are not alone with this, I support pregnant women to connect with their changing bodies in a safe nurturing space.
I work 1:1 or in small groups with those who have a regular yoga practice and want to continue to practice throughout pregnancy and those who have never set foot on a yoga mat. I aim to make yoga accessible to every-body.
I am trauma informed. I often work with those pre and postnatally who are in recovery with eating disorders, addiction, grief & mental health diagnosis.
Postnatal Yoga.
What is Postnatal Yoga?
Strengthen & tone abdominal muscles
Pelvic Floor rehabilitation
Boosts energy and mood
Helps with postpartum depression
Promotes better sleep and relaxation
Relieves stress and anxiety
Helps with body positivity
(+6 weeks postpartum, ideally with health)
Postnatal yoga is widely accepted as being a safe and gentle way to introduce movement, strengthening and stretching after giving birth.
As well as increasing overall wellbeing Postnatal Yoga can:
Postnatal yoga has become a popular form of movement, focusing on rehabilitation of the core and pelvic floor muscles, as well as functional movements to help cope with the demands of motherhood. I programme yoga asana with freestyle movement to benefit tight shoulders, neck and back. A holistic approach taking into account what mum needs that particular day/moment.
The body has undergone a great deal of changes physically, hormonally, emotionally and mentally throughout conception, pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I offer a safe space to not only rehabilitate the physical body but also explore and release emotions through movement, breathwork & meditative practices to bring calmness and aid the transition into parenthood. This is time for you.
Whilst in session, baby can be nearby or mum alone, up to you. My approach is flexible, anything goes - if you need to feed or change nappies - totally fine.
I am trauma informed. I often work with those pre and postnatally who are in recovery with eating disorders, addiction, grief & mental health diagnosis.

“Everything else went out of the window but the memory of your breathing calmed things down and I felt a lot more calmer, balanced, in control, rational and less anxious. I felt empowered.”
- Postnatal Yoga Client -
“Virginia is a fantastic yoga teacher. I practiced with her throughout my pregnancy and now postnatally. Virginia has taken great care in her teaching and I have always felt nurtured and supported. Since the birth of my daughter I have really enjoyed getting back into my body through yoga flow. Virginia has known when to push me and when to ease off. I feel in such safe, expert hands and look forward to our time together every week - time to myself which is so rare.”
Private Classes
Private classes are an excellent way to learn yoga or develop your existing practice if you are seeking a more intensive, personalised one-on-one programme.
Suitable for those with time constraints that don’t allow for attendance to a regular class or for those who prefer to learn in their own space and time.
Ideal also for pregnancy perhaps in later stages or if you have specific areas you would like to focus on and develop. Or Postnatally when you are looking to fit in yoga with a newborn.
Virginia is an intuitive and responsive practitioner who will attune to your needs whatever they may be.
